Call of Duty has come a long way. From the orginal CoD4 and WaW to Ghosts and BO2, there are a total of 10 CoD's. But, what will the future of CoD be like? I mean, next gen is "kind of futuristic," but for that I mean "lets go into time future."
Call of Duty researchers (my friends lol) helped me out on this one. First off they started by looking at the past to determine the future. What they noticed first of all which some of you may not have noticed is that every year when a new CoD comes out, Infinity Ward and Treyarch take turns making the Call of Duties. So by looking at this, it seems to be Treyarch is going to be making the next CoD in 2014.
But, for this to happen, they need to look at how well they've gotten at making Call of Duties up to this point. Starting from the Modern Call of Duty list is Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare. It got an 8.9 rating and was voted best FPS game of 2007. It held that title for 2 years until Modern Warfare 2 came out which was voted to be the best Call of Duty of all time with a 9.3 rating.
Oh, I'm sorry, did I skip a CoD? Oh yes, WaW. this game got a 8.4 rating and was voted the best Treyarch Call of Duty of all time. Now, all of these CoD's that I just mentioned all have something in common, see it? Its that they all were voted to be the best of something at one point. That is until Black Ops came out. Now, I'm not saying that Black Ops was necessarily a bad game, but when it came out it never received any awards at all. It got then an 8.2 rating and from the last Call of Duty (MW2) sales went up on Black Ops 23% because of MW2's popularity, but after about 3 months the online community went down about 24,000 people. Sense of this, Black Ops was considered an average Call of Duty. After that, MW3 came out with an 8.3 rating and sales went up only 13% after Black Ops but then after 2 months the community population average dropped 32,500. Black Ops 2 however, had no awards and was considered the worst Call of Duty of all time. People anyhow still bought Black Ops 2 but the community population did not drop because of Treyarch announcing patches but then the patches being ever so dumb by just a "0.1% change in the DSR's fire rate." Bull crap.
Anyway, when Ghosts came out, the community started to rise again. So, what do you think will happen next? Well, the researchers investigated into this and determined that this will be the order of the next four CoD's: Black Ops 3, Ghosts 2, World at War 2, and Modern Warfare 4. The future will also have an agnry community. Every time a new Treyarch game comes out it gets more bull crap and when a new Infinity Ward game comes out it gets more boring. They predicted that by Modern Warfare 4 (if it does come out) the game community will only be 60,000-70,000 people... for Xbox! The community population shrinks very time a new Call of Duty comes out. And when a new Call of Duty does come out, it gets even worse. Think of this way: Infinity Ward has shown less support overtime, and has not done much recently. Treyarch isn't eany better. They try to get on our good side by patching everything, but too many patches end up making the game full of bull crap weapons. So, what do you think of the Call of Duty's near future? I'm probably going to get arguements in the comments because of what i said, but these aren't even my opinions these are the community's opinions. Thanks for taking your time to read this.
