England captain Tom Wood wants his side to learn the lessons from their RBS Six Nations failure when they tackle Argentina in Saturday's first Test.

England won their opening four games of the championship but their hopes of a first Grand Slam in a decade quickly vanished as they were thumped by Wales in Cardiff.

And Wood believes England need to wear their heart on the sleeve against the Pumas at the Estadio Padre Ernesto Martearena.

"We often find we are on the back foot because other nations have that togetherness and they rally to play the English because, the reality is, a lot of teams want to beat us," Wood said.

"We came up short against Wales. It is a lesson we learned there.

"We have to get ourselves back on the front foot. We want to be very proud of what we are and we want everyone to know we are proud.

"It is developing an identity, saying, 'This is who we are, this is what we are about and this is how we live, day in and day out'.

"It is early days so far but it is something we are starting to develop as a group, to make sure we have a real proud sense of identity and what it means to be English."

England have handed full debuts to Christian Wade and Matt Kvesic, while former rugby league star Kyle Eastmond, Henry Thomas and Billy Vunipola will win their first caps off the bench.

Freddie Burns, Rob Webber and Dave Attwood all start a Test for the first time having previously made cameos off the bench.

Meanwhile Argentina have included experienced centres Felipe Contepomi and Gonzalo Tiesi in their side.

Contepomi will skipper the side and partner Tiesi in the midfield.
